Indy Rai, CPA
PARTNER
Indy, a BBA in Accounting graduate from KPU, developed his foundational accounting skills at prominent national and international public accounting firms. There he specialized in delivering accounting and customized taxation services to small and medium-sized businesses throughout B.C.
Before establishing Rai Sekhon, Indy held a managerial position at a mid-sized multi-office accounting firm. In this role, he supervised a large team responsible for providing top-quality accounting services while also focusing on developing the client relationship. This experience set the stage for the white glove service we pride ourselves on delivering today.
With a wealth of public accounting experience, Indy's practice centers on delivering swift accounting, assurance, and taxation services to a diverse clientele. His experience extends to providing services to both large and emerging real estate developers, construction companies, and healthcare professionals such as doctors and dentists. Additionally, he has worked closely with incorporated professionals, including lawyers and architects. Indy's expertise also encompasses advising on effective business structuring for optimal tax benefits and offering guidance on exit and succession planning.
In his free time, he enjoys watching and attending sporting events, working out, traveling, and golfing.
Gurbir Sekhon, CPA
PARTNER
Gurbir graduated from SFU with a BSc and from UBC with a Diploma in Accounting. He articled at an international firm as an auditor, and then worked as a Corporate Controller for a publicly traded graphite mining company.
Gurbir’s audit experience was focused on large private companies, where he developed his technical knowledge through exposure to a breadth of financial reporting standards in a wide array of industries. His industry experience spanned gold mining, lumber, construction, construction supply wholesale, and pension plans.
His Corporate Controller experience gave him insight on how working in the high pressures of a public market for an international operation demands high quality and timely information for management to use. This international operations exposure has given him a unique perspective when advising clients on their business.
In addition to providing compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and taxation services to clients, he assists clients in simplifying their business operations and implementing smooth processes.
In his free time he likes to explore new trails, workout, and golf.
